Kinda Update...

So I've been trying to take notes on the people that have been helping Buffy and things that have been happening. I started doing this Saturday morning because along this journey the have been some awesome people that have cared for my love.

Friday. They let me go back to see her around 8:30 I think, and that was hard. Her temp was high and heart was in the 160's The nurse in charge of her in the ER was Bob. Simply amazing. He took the time to answer my questions, he explained what all the machines were doing and let us know the she was now “His” patient. He told us what to expect in the short term and he let me and her mom love on her until we got to carried away. He'd make us back off and relax, because she need to rest. I told him he was the man in charge as far as I was concerned.

Tim, the respiratory therapist, told us what he was up to and also answered our dumb question we must have been asking...

Linda, Buffy's mom. If you pull out a modern dictionary and look up the word “rock”, you will find a picture of this woman there. Buffy's dad had just gotten out of the hospital on Wednesday. He had been in there since December 23 and now I call her telling her that her daughter is in the ER with possible brain damage. Oh man....

Friday finished with Buffy in the ICU unit at Mercy SW. They were wanting to move her to the downtown main hospital to do an MRI, but couldn't get a room till Saturday.

Sandy was Buffy's ICU nurse on Friday after noon. Another awesome person to meet along the way. We'd get to see her again on Monday. She reiterated many of the things the Bob had said about the wide spectrum of antibiotics they had started Buffy on. They didnt know what, so they were treating her for it all.

I sent my shell shocked kids home with their Grandma Linda. One of Buffy's cousins, Lori, had come down from Lodi to help take care of Buffy's dad. Seeing his grand kids would help lift his spirits and keep him occupied. He couldnt come down to Buffy because of his current condition, and it was driving him mad.

Lupe came in for Friday night to take care of my baby over night. He made me feel calm as he liked to keep everything nice and dark in the ICU room and “Let her get the rest she needs”. They had her on active cooling to arrest her temperature. Temps were down to the 103's and her HR was down in the 130's

I went home Friday night with my head swimming and my stomach full of bile. Still looking for the bottom of the pit that I had fell into. I randomly open and closed my eyes for the next few hours in a futile attempt to sleep. It never came....

Its Monday night, I need to go to sleep. She still in the hospital, sedated and on the respirator. They were going to try and wean her off the sedation starting tonight (again). We've got a long haul in front of us and I need rest. I'll try and catch up tomorrow.

Keep the prayers and good vibes coming. She needs them.

Mine and my wife's thoughts and prayers go out to you and your wife. Buffy has been a very supportive voice for me, and I really hate to hear that this has happened. If there's anything we can do, don't hesitate to ask. I'm jwwebb.deviantart.com, and my email is necroscension at yahoo dot com if you need to contact me for any reason... Let her know that her DA family is pulling for her.

My thoughts are with you and your family in this stressful time.
I have at times come across your wife's site on DA and have been very impressed with her work. Although I've not directly chatted with her I've seen her name pop up in many a journal of those that I watch and I know she is well respected and well loved by our community. Keep strong. All will be well.

I most sincerely wish to offer my hopes and prayers for Buffy's complete recovery, if that is at all possible, and God willing, it is. Me, I hold out lots of real hope for such things. Anything positive is possible. Anything. I will light a candle and pray for Buffy- pray that she, and you, get past this, and for things to go in a positive direction. Good luck. ~ Jonathan Rich

Mine and my husband's hearts go out to u all and prayers to Buffy (or pixeltease as i've come to know her). she's colored a couple of my pieces and couldn't have been a sweeter lady about it. she's been very supportive of my art and i know people don't just take time out of their day to appreciate artwork and not mean it. she seems like a wonderful lady and i hope she gets better sooner rather than later.
let her know that her friends and fans on deviantart are eager to have her back with her amazing talent. thank u for updating us at such a difficult time. give her a big hug for us. =)

My thoughts and prayers as well. I haven't talked to her in ages and was looking forward to creating a little something for her birthday again this year. I know how much the silly ecard that I made for her last year meant. She is such a beautiful person and she deserves the best of everything and it sounds like she couldn't be in the company of a better crew of docs and nurses. I hope and pray for a full and speedy recovery. Please tell her that Lynette said hi and there will be a new birthday card for her.

We're keeping her and your family in our thoughts and prayers. I know how this can be with my own family and friends. Stay strong and we'll all be there along the way.

I became familiar with Buffy via DeviantArt and feel in love with her work. Having quit drawing for several years doubting myself, it was her artwork which inspired me to return to it and keep trying. She's one reason I joined DA. I never mentioned it, but one goal I've had was to one day draw something worthy of her talents.
Although I don't know her personally, I was greived by the news and wanted to offer you my prayers and support. I know there's not much I can say or do, especially being a total stranger, but I really do wish that I could do something to give to her what she'd given to me. Again, my prayers, support, and heart goes out to all of you.

I barely know Buffy either but have been continually awed and inspired by her artistic gifts. I am saddened by these awful and tragic developments. I pray she recovers unharmed where you both can be reunited once again and that you find the strength to get you through such a rough time. I'm a big advocate for marital passion and your love for your wife is palpable even through the framework of this blog. May God bring her through and return her to you safe and sound.
